Sudan has rejected a US request to resettle Palestinians displaced by Israel’s bombing of Gaza under Donald Trump’s controversial plan to transform the territory into a luxury hub. The US and Israel reportedly approached Sudan, Somalia, and Somaliland, offering incentives such as military aid and reconstruction support. However, Sudanese officials swiftly dismissed the proposal, which experts have stated would be illegal under international law. Despite the reports, representatives of Somalia and Somaliland have denied being contacted to host displaced Palestinians. Trump’s plan has sparked global outrage, with Arab nations instead proposing a $53 billion reconstruction effort to keep Palestinians in Gaza.
