The Baptist Convention of South Africa (BCSA) welcomed Dr. DeForest B. Soaries, Jr., renowned pastor,
author, and founder of the dfree® Financial Freedom Movement, to its Annual Assembly. The event took
place from December 12th to 15th, 2024, at the Thusong Centre, Zuurbekom, BCSA Headquarters.
Dr. Soaries had been invited to deliver the keynote sermon during the ordination service on Sunday,
December 15th, marking a significant moment in the lives of new pastors entering the ministry. In
addition to this honor, he led one-hour breakout sessions on Friday and Saturday to present his
groundbreaking work on financial empowerment and the dfree® philosophy of living debt-free.
Dr. Soaries’ appearance at the Annual Assembly reflects his ongoing commitment to equipping
communities with the tools they need to achieve financial freedom and sustainable success. His dfree®
movement has helped thousands of individuals and families break the chains of debt and develop
strategies for financial independence, with a spiritual foundation rooted in biblical principles. Dr. Soaries
efforts and commitment are in closing the racial wealth gap one family at a time.
The Baptist Convention of South Africa, led by Secretary General Dr. Thembelani Jentile, views Dr.
