IFP Youth Brigade Rallies Young Voices to Carry Buthelezi’s Legacy Forward

The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) Youth Brigade in KwaZulu-Natal is on a mission—not just to celebrate 50 years of the party’s existence, but to ignite a new wave of young leadership.

On Sunday, thousands filled the Prince Mangosuthu Stadium in Ulundi, honoring the vision of IFP founder Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi. But for the party’s youth wing, the anniversary is more than a milestone—it’s a call to action.

“The Prince of KwaPhindangene believed in the power of education and opportunity for young people,” said Mncedisi Maphisa, chairperson of the IFP Youth Brigade in KZN. “We must not only protect his legacy but also ensure that leadership is driven by integrity and fairness.”

With the future of South Africa resting on the shoulders of its youth, the IFP is urging young people to step up, get involved, and lead with purpose. As the party marks half a century, the question remains: will the next generation rise to the challenge and shape a future worthy of Buthelezi’s vision?
