Kaizer Chiefs boss responds to Nabi’s exit rumour

Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr has responded to a report that Nasreddine Nabi will be sacked.

Nabi is in his first season with Amakhosi but has had a difficult campaign, especially in the league.

Under his watch, Chiefs find themselves ninth on the log with 30 points after 26 games. They have lost 12 matches.

However, Nabi delivered the Nedbank Cup this past weekend which was Amakhosi’s first in exactly 10 years.

A day later, Sunday Times reported that Chiefs will axe Nabi despite his recent and only success as the club’s coach.

Nabi has maintained on several occasions that this season is about building, and that his second year will be better.

Now, Kaizer Jr said while the coach still has a year left on his contract, the Chiefs hieracry will sit down and review the season as a whole.

He added that as Chiefs, they are already planning for the future but whether with or without Nabi remains to be seen.

KAIZER CHIEFS BOSS ON NABI’S EXIT REPORT

“The coach has got another season after this with us now,” said Kaizer Jr on 5FM.

“At the same time, like we do it after every season, we sit down and review. We know that results in the league have been inconsistent.

“We know we’ve just been able to achieve a record milestone. With everything else, we’re moving forward in our planning and we want to savour this moment, view this moment in a massive way moving forward.

“Galvanise the supporters, galvanise the technical team, the players, the staff for the mission ahead. So, we’re just planning for the future,” he concluded.
